Screatons Ltd is a family-run firm of accountants which has been operating in Atherstone for 30 years (previously as Screaton & Co). Meet the team.
Neil began working at Screatons as far back as 1991 to help his dad and earn himself some pocket money. After going to University and spending a year in France he ended up with a Masters degree in translation and not long after set out on his accountancy qualification. In 2010 he gained his ACA accreditation and took charge of the company when his father, Brian retired. Since then the company has continued to grow resulting in the move to larger premises at the end of 2017. Neil lives in Baddesley Ensor with his wife Kerry and their two daughters.
Julie has over 30 years of experience within payroll and joined the company in 2012 returning to Atherstone after living down in Essex.
She looks after the ever expanding list of payroll clients and is also our Automatic Enrolment specialist. She is not the only member of her family to be a key part of the team at Screatons as husband Jon is occasionally enlisted to carry out odd jobs that need doing around the workplace. Julie plays for her local bowls team and lives locally with Jon and their pet cat Lily.
Chris graduated with an honours degree from the University of East London in 1996 and was a part-qualified CIMA accountant in the NHS before embarking on a fourteen year career as one of Atherstone’s leading estate agents.
Another sports enthusiast, he has represented Atherstone at cricket, hockey and rugby and is now an active member of Badgers running club having run eleven marathons. He lives locally with his wife Louise.
Simon is the newest addition to the Screatons team joining in April 2017 and he is currently studying for his ACCA qualification.
A big sports enthusiast, he currently plays table tennis in his spare time and he is the only member of the firm to have held a world record from his days when he represented Team GB as a youth at race-walking.
Simon is married to Marie and has a young son Oliver, born shortly after he started at Screatons.
Lindsey is usually the first person you encounter when you come to Screatons as she is the receptionist in addition to her many other duties. She began working part-time back in 2005 and is an important member of the team, now working full time at the new premises. Outside of work she has many interests including playing crown green bowls for two local teams. Married to her husband Alan, they have two grown-up daughters.
Anthony is the longest continuous serving member of staff at Screatons having started work back in May 2001. He completed his degree in Business Administration at De Montfort University and is part qualified ACCA. He plays five-a-side football and is a keen fan of both darts and Manchester United. He lives in Nuneaton with his fiancée Sara and their dog Arnie and cat Pearl, having being brought up in the White Lion pub in Croft Road, Nuneaton.
